Rick Grunden was on "Deal or No Deal!" Rick was one of the three friends/support team of contestant Elyse (wife of a former roommate in LA) on the recent "Star Wars" version of DOND which aired on Monday, April 28, 2008 (recorded in February 2008). If you missed it, you have to check out the youtube clip. It is not a very good quality recording, however, you cannot miss Rick and his animated personality. My favorite part of the entire show is after Carrie Fisher comes on, Rick says (at 1:09 of the clip), "Howie, Can I just interrupt for a second?" I thought he was going to ask Howie if he could tell him one of Rick's infamous "10 second" stories. Rick has several speaking parts in this episode and if you have ever watched Deal of No Deal, you know that the support team does not say much. It is very entertaining if you have a few minutes to watch the clip. :)

Unfortunately, the U.S. Olympic Team Trials are in Eugene, OR over the July 4th weekend. Bud is hoping to be able to hop over to Cd'A for a little bit of the reunion though (let's hope so!). And then on to Beijing, China for the big games in August! Good Luck Bud! I feel privileged to have thrown the shot put and discus with him in high school! - Cheryl (Rush) Nichols |
