The Legacy of Jenny Reese
"Jenny Reese is the most decorated woman runner in Coeur d'Alene distance running history, finishing second as a freshman in 1984. Reese won as a sophomore (1985) and again as a senior (1987)."

Thanks to Sam Mauch for pointing out that Jenny was mentioned in a recent Cd'A Press article (10/28/2008).  Wanted to share.  Congrats Jenny superstar.

Our Float Mentioned in Cd'A Press Twice!
Donnie did a GREAT job with the float and parade activities.  Thank you so much to all that helped decorate and participate in the parade.

"Members of the 1988 graduating class of Coeur d'Alene High School decorated a truck honoring all 14 of their deceased classmates, including Jesse Wright and his 16-year-old daughter, who were both killed in a 2006 car accident."   "They were important to us then and we wanted to let their families know that they are still in our hearts 20 years later," said 1988 class member Dawn Potts." (Cd'A Press, 7/5/2008)

"Coeur d'Alene's Fourth of July Parade highlights ... Veterans of all ages, the fire department honor guard, Mayor Sandi Bloem on the back of a Harley, Councilman Woody McEvers inexplicably high atop a carriage filming the crowd, longtime Commodore John McGruder recuperating from hip surgery and riding a scooter with the Coeur d'Alene pirate float contingent, Uncle Sam aka William Beckett on stilts, Sen. John Goedde two days returned from his Thailand honeymoon, the Red Hot Mamas Boys, Shriner Potentate Bill Hamilton getting a rousing round of applause from the crowd gathered on his front porch at Ninth and Sherman, zoot-suited Scott Hough, the wild and wacky and musically talented Perfection-Nots and last but not least ... Coeur d'Alene High School's class of 1988 paying respects to their gone but not forgotten classmates: Alan Broadwater, Michelle Carter, Chris Franks, Jeff Goff, Justin Crandal, Rich Draben, Jeff Carpita, Marshall Carter, Bear Mangeres, Mike McGrier, Susan Savoy, Matt Thompson, Jesse Wright, Matt Frogness and to all serving in the Armed Forces. Classy class."  (Cd'A Press, Kerri Thoreson's column, 7/9/2008)

Saturday Night, July 5th - Dinner/Cruise
Please note that the doors open at 4pm and 4-5pm is a "social hour."  Dinner is at 5pm.  We will have our class photo after dinner and then will board the boat.  If you have any fun 80s CDs, please bring them!

IMPORTANT:  If you have not already paid for tomorrow night and now plan to attend, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know today.  I had to pay the balance and give them our final count for food on Tuesday so that they could order food yesterday (the sales/catering dept is closed today and can't order additional food).  I accounted for a few extra, however, if tomorrow night is anything like last night, THERE WON'T BE ENOUGH FOOD.  [We had 35 people show up last night without a prior heads up that they were coming - which was GREAT because we were happy to see them and fine last night because people didn't worry about the appetizers, but dinner is a little different].  Please let me know ASAP so that I can let the Resort know.  Thanks!

I think that everyone had a great time last night.  I know I did.  So fun to see everyone.  Feels like we were high school yesterday.  :)

'88 Classmates Showcase & Raffle

Do you have a business, make a product, or are involved in a project of interest that you'd like to share with your classmates? We will have a table at the Saturday night reunion event where class of '88 folks can show off what they do. Bring a stack of business cards, brochures, flyers or examples of products that you'd like to share.

[Thank you Anne Sylte Bloom for this idea].

KRAIG KINCHELOE Raffle: We are also looking for donations for a raffle that will benefit our classmate KRAIG KINCHELOE who is facing kidney replacement surgery. Items for the raffle will be included on the same table as the previously mentioned items, then will be raffled at the end of the evening. All proceeds from the raffle will go to Kraig and his family. Please contact Anne Sylte Bloom (asbloom@comcast.net) with any raffle donations.
