Hi everyone.  I am participating in Race for the Cure this Saturday in Washington DC.  I would be honored to walk in celebration of anyone in our class that has faced this horrible disease.  If you don't mind sharing, please let me know your story at cnichols@wc.com.

Dave and I are walking in memory of our sister-in-law Celeste Nichols, who lost her battle to breast cancer in 2006. She was only 38 years old. We will also be walking with Jim & Celeste's two kids. Our niece Alexandra ("Alex") is now 8 and Hunter will be 7 by the time of the race.

I will be 38 as of race day and thanks to a promise I made to Celeste, I had my first mammogram in 2006 to establish a baseline. Celeste was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer at age 37 and did not have a family history of breast cancer and had never had a mammogram. It's never too early to have a mammogram. If you're a woman, please consider Celeste the next time you see your doctor. If you love a woman, please urge her to do the same. A few minutes of discomfort will at least establish a baseline for all future tests to be compared.

Donnie Bryntesen had a great idea.  We are going to be in the Cd'A 4th of July Parade!  "Class of 1988 - 20 Years Later" 
Our float will be dedicated to our entire class with a special tribute to classmates lost and classmates served in the armed services.  Donnie is heading up the entire project and is getting the flat bed  donated, having high school cheerleaders make banners and getting candy donated to throw to the crowd.  Thank you Donnie!

If you'd like to participate, please RSVP (see RSVP page).  Donnie is also having t-shirts made and will cost about $10 which can pay for on Thursday at Brix or Friday morning at the parade.  If you'd like a t-shirt, please indicate which size (S, M, L, XL, XXL). 

Spouses and children are invited to join you in the parade.
