What have you been doing since June 6, 1988?: Having babies and teaching kids. I love my job. There is nothing I would rather do and they actually pay me. I still haven't found a reason to leave Coeur d'Alene. Most of my last 20 years have been filled with blessings. I did lose my brother to cancer a few years ago. That threw me for quite a loop but I'm back on my feet. I am looking forward to the reunion. Safe travels to all of you. State/Prov.: CA Occupation: Investment Banker Website: www.wealthinvestmentgroup - .com Marital Status: Single Again No. of Children: 1 Who was your favorite teacher?: Senora Barbara Everson What is your favorite high school memory?: Playing together with and winning the State Championship in football with my brother. What have you been doing since June 6, 1988?: I am famous for being long-winded, but I have had a wild and crazy life. I went to U of Colorado on a full-ride football scholarship and won the Theophilus Gregory Award for combined excellence in Academics and Athletics. I went to two straight National Championships Bowl Games, both against Notre Dame and both in the Orange Bowl. We lost the first time after an undefeated season and won the second time to clinch the National Championship. I splintered my femur with 8-10 inch cracks from my knee up. I had already completed 6 knee operations and my career was over. I became the first NCAA athlete to transfer my full ride scholarship to another school and studied for a year at Denmark's Int'l Business School in Copenhagen. Before arriving in Denmark for school my body had gotten soft after stopping to play football and training 6 days a week. I went from 6'5", 296lbs with less than 12% bodyfat; to over 343 lbs and 35% bodyfat. I was introduced to Herbalife and lost 123 lbs in 5 1/2 months. I came home and found out the guy who suggested the products to me happened to be one of the top 10 distributors in the world. After the summer of training with him in Europe, I called my parents and let them know I was giving up my full-ride scholarship to pursue the Herbalife opportunity in Europe. I went back to Colorado after getting my full-ride scholarhip back to finish my double major in Jan 94 and graduated Aug 94 with a BS degree in Int'l Business and Marketing. I moved to San Diego, CA in Jan '95 and started working for Capital Investment Systems. Things were going great as a national speaker for the company until June 2, 1995; when I was broadsided by a van while riding a motorcycle to work. The van crushed both of my legs and right shoulder. They told me they would have to amputate my left leg from the knee down. I was very depressed but worked hard in rehab to make my body strong, but I kept eating poorly. They saved both of my legs in the end, but now I was 343 lbs and couldn't walk very well. I have battled with my weight ever since, and seem to have a problem with emotional eating. I look forward to looking better in a year, but sure wish I would have stayed on track this year. I got hurt emotionally and put on 80lbs in 6 weeks. I got started raising capital for TrueVision Laser Centers after the motorcycle accident and the rest is history. I have raised 100's of millions of dollars for Pre-IPO companies and have an investment group of 2788 millionaires. The website is called www.wealthinvestmentgroup.com and is free to join. I have lived in Southern California for the most part since 1995 and live in Los Angeles County in a place called Granada Hills. I also have a custom built home in Thailand and have lived extensively throughout the south of Spain and other parts of Europe. One of my biggest funds is in Australia and New Zealand so I have taken a few "business trips" there too. Before investing full time and raising capital, I was a bottom consultant for different companies including whole divisions of Microsoft and Mattel. I am currently working on some great domestic and international projects with Visa and MasterCard along with some exciting programs for baby boomers. 70+ Some of our projects include: Cheyenne Mountain Games including the Stargateworlds.com game. www.cheyenneme.com; Global Food Technologies. Next Gen food processing for meats and seafood. www.globalfoodtech.com; www.mynoahs.com; www.cbio.com.au; www.viralytics.com; www.analyticaltd.com; www.injet.com and so on. I give you permission to have a wonderful life. Sincerely, Rick Grunden What do you miss most about high school?: My body and my youth. I miss the sports and the dancing at Hollywood Nights. From Rick: I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up. I have enjoyed reading everyone's stories and what they have been up to. I am sorry mine is so long, I do not know how to write in bullet form yet. I love living in Southern California. My son just turned 10 in June and for his birthday we had a big sleep over pool party. Sounds normal right? The kids and adults all swam with four Ball Pythons and one Water Dragon (They all get to be about 6 feet long) and fed the Largest Spider in the World which is a Goliath Bird Eating Tarantula. Don't let the creatures scare you into not visiting. They are all in cages and there is plenty of room for everyone. |

State/Prov.: ID Occupation: Software Engineer Marital Status: Single Who was your favorite teacher?: Mr. Terris What is your favorite high school memory?: it finally being over What have you been doing since June 6, 1988?: After graduation, I attended the UofI for several years studying Mechanical Engineering, switched to Computer Science, and got bored/burned out. I spent the mid-90's working construction, homebrewing, and cultivating a rabid culinary hobby. I managed to squeeze in the rest of my CS degree before the turn of the milennium, graduating Dec. 1999. Since then I've worked for several small tech companies that crashed and burned. I took a break to do computer security research at the UofI for a few years, and now I'm back at it working for Trigeo Network Security in Post Falls. This one's actually successful! State/Prov.: ID Occupation: Chemistry teacher Website: www.cdaschools.org/lchs/f - aculty/khaler/index.html Marital Status: Married Who was your favorite teacher?: Mr. K, Mr. Peebs, Big Al What have you been doing since June 6, 1988?: It seems like only yesterday I was at CHS talking to Mr. Lowande... I've been in academia ever since high school. I earned my BS in Chemical Engineering from UI in '93. Didn't like 60+hr work weeks, so I returned to school, earning my teaching certification from Boise State in 97. I've been teaching college (UI, Boise State), tutoring extensively, and am currently teaching chemistry at Lake City High School. I am now a colleague with many of the teachers you've all mentioned (Plum, Rusko, Fac, etc), and I seriously was talking to Mr. Lowande yesterday. (He is retiring this year, btw.) I met my wonderful wife, Jacque, in March 02, we married in June 04, and we are expecting our first child at the end of August. Woo-hoo! I'm extremely excited to join the rank of 'parent'. Looking forward to seeing you all. Great job, Cheryl -- bravo! What do you miss most about high school?: Not much. Each new phase of life brings its own challenges and rewards. |

State/Prov.: WA Occupation: System Adminstrator Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 5 Who was your favorite teacher?: MR K, with Mr Peebles a close second. What is your favorite high school memory?: Riding to Boise with the girls volley ball team What have you been doing since June 6, 1988?: Learning about children and the world. I discovered that Danny Elfman and the Princess Bride are still brilliant after 20 years. We didn't imagine how bad those other drivers are in winter (they prove it every year). Most recently I found I am old (I have a 13 year old this January) and that despite the hype, shovelling 3 feet of snow off your roof is not as glamorous as it sounds. What do you miss most about high school?: No responsibility and everything was a LOT cheaper (thanks mom and dad...) From Jeff: |
